Amati is pleased to announce that it was granted a Cyber Essentials certificate of assurance valid from the 1st May 2017.

Cyber Essentials is a government-backed cyber security certification scheme that sets out a good baseline of cyber security suitable for all organisations in all sectors. The scheme addresses five key controls.

The risks of cyber attack, for all businesses, was recently highlighted in the press with the "Wanna Cry" Ransomware incident that affected many computers worldwide on the 12th May 2017. Fortunately Amati was not affected by that incident, but the threat landscape is very wide and growing. To defend against so many threats requires a cyber strategy. During the last year Amati has been upgrading much of its internal systems infrastructure to defend against such attacks. We decided that an important component of our cyber strategy should include ensuring that as a minimum we gained Cyber Essentials accreditation.

In the next few months Amati will be aiming to bring added assurances by using independent scrutiny through the Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation.
