Amati is pleased to announce that founder and fund manager Douglas Lawson will be speaking at The
Retirement Show being held at the QEII Centre in Westminster, London on Saturday 20th June. In
tune with the broad theme of the event, Douglas will be discussing London's junior Alternative Investment
Market (AIM) and the tax reliefs available to investors in AIM companies. The talk will cover AIM based
Venture Capital Trusts (VCTs) and the mitigation of Inheritance Tax (IHT) via Business Property Relief
(BPR) which is applicable to direct investments in qualifying AIM-listed companies.
AIM is celebrating it's 20th anniversary this month. It is the junior exchange in London for small,
higher-growth companies from the UK and worldwide. Although not problem free, and very much a market
requiring considerable discernment from investors, as one of the most successful exchanges of it's kind,
it offers the ideal environment for ambitious and well managed companies looking to access London's
deep and liquid capital markets.
