Pause to the removal of VAT from the Amati AIM IHT Portfolio Service
In February 2026, we announced that, from 1 April 2026, VAT would no longer be applied to the annual management charge (AMC) for the Amati AIM IHT Portfolio Service. Since then, we have been made aware that HMRC has initiated a review of the VAT treatment of model-based retail investment products.
We understand that this review may take some time to conclude and that HMRC may determine that VAT should continue to be charged on AIM IHT fees.
As a result, we regret that we will need to continue applying VAT to our AMC while we await further guidance from HMRC.
If HMRC ultimately confirms that our services should be exempt from VAT, we will seek to reimburse any VAT charged on our fees from 1 April 2026.
