Electric vehicles have received a lot of bad press lately, with even Tesla falling on hard times. But electrification is not binary: Plug-in hybrids, “mild hybrids” and a new category of extended-range hybrids continue to grow. Partial electrification of functions such as braking or power steering is another growth driver, leading to futuristic but already available technologies such as the ability to spin your car on the spot or “crab-walk” sideways into a parking place.
